August 3-4 Brings the Half Way Point to the IHRA Season
Championship runs are now starting to form on the IHRA Gamblers Series with dominant runs from Dave Anthony, Colton Drover, and many others.
Weather for August 3-4 is looking to be a beautiful weekend of side by side drag racing. The first half of the season has disrupted the Sunday programs: Quick 16 Heads up and Thunder Series so much that the additional weekend of racing has been added to the schedule for Sept. 21-22. This weekend will be the second session of the Sunday program and the Top 8 from the Quick 16 will hold position while the other cars qualify for the other 8 positions. The Thunder Series / Summit Super Series qualifiers will claim a winner at the end of August to compete in Box / No Box / Junior classes in the World Finals. This weekend will be the 2nd session of the Thunder Series.
2019 Kicks off with Aaron Rose and the Monza on Top
Opening Weekend comes out of the Gate with Aaron Rose clearing the field of IHRA Gambler competitors.
It was an exciting opening to the 2019 IHRA season with plenty of action. Opening weekend showcased the Firebird and Trans Am Club car show with many participants contributing to the Local Food Bank. There was a ton of action on the 660 with Snowmobiles, Bikes, ATV's, Side by Side, and a stout field of race cars. One individual was dominant the whole day and that was Aaron Rose and his new acquired Monza. In the final round of the day Rose squared off against David Powell Jr's 600 cubic inch big block Mercury Zephyr. Rose came out victorious by a fraction of a second and claiming the title and lead in the 2019 Gamblers Season Championship.
